Sound
There are two categories of sound in film diegetic and non-diegetic.
Diegetic is sound the character can hear.
Non-diegetic is sound the character cannot hear but the audience can (it adds atmosphere/makes you feel emotions).
Diegetic is sound the character can hear.

Examples
Diegetic:dialogue, ambient sound and sound effects
Non-diegetic: Music, voice over and sound effects
